Today, things feel a bit unclear, and my emotions are mixed – a feeling I’ve had pretty much constantly since the beginning of this war.
Lately, Gaza City is being bombed more frequently. Thanks God, we haven’t had any losses in our family yet, but the fear is always present.
My sister told me that food supplies are running low. You can see that the selection is shrinking, and of course, prices are getting more expensive. Unfortunately, the merchants are exploiting this unstable situation, as usual.
My mother and some of my sisters don’t want to go south. And they’re right not to. They have nothing there, no tent, and no place at all to stay. We have uncles, aunts, and friends in the south, and they tell us about the misery there. Thatโs why my mother and sisters donโt want to leave.
My sister who lives in Egypt has a husband and two sons who are in Gaza. The area where they live has become extremely dangerous, with neighboring houses being bombed. That’s why they’ve scattered their belongings wherever they can. During the day, they live on the streets, and at night, they sleep at my other sister’s or my mother’s place. Every time they find a corner to sit in, residents tell them to leave. Everyone is afraid for their own lives.
Three men on the street are a good enough reason for the Zionists to blow up the entire street.Another example happened today.
Right now, every family is looking out for themselves. It’s understandable. Very few people still have the capacity or strength to do anything else. It’s not out of malice. itโs out of fear and desperation.
My sister Maha, the mother of the late Watean, went to kindergarten with her son this morning for the first time in a long while. They were so happy about it. But as soon as they got there, they saw fighter jets dropping leaflets telling everyone in Gaza City to leave and go south.
My sisters tell me they don’t know where to go or how. It’s not as simple as people might think, and it’s not cheap either.
Some of my sisters are just fed up with constantly running away. They just want a quick end to all of this.
